April Favorites

May 9, 2018 By Penny

Hey babes! If this is your first time reading my monthly favorites, I include all of the things I’ve been loving lately like vegan food/recipes, vegan/cruelty free beauty, bloggers/Youtubers, and sometimes fashion, fandom, and/or witchy things. Keep reading to find out what I loved during April!

My favorite recipe of the month was this vegan creamy sun-dried tomato pasta–the creamy sauce with garlic, sun dried tomatoes, and fresh basil is so good–I made it multiple times! Is there anything better than a huge plate of pasta?

Another favorite food I want to mention is the mac and cheese from Counter Culture here in Austin–I was going to include it in my March Favorites but didn’t since I did an all Disney-themed favorites instead. It’s gluten free (and vegan of course) and so good! I really love their fresh cheese appetizer plates and pac man salad as well.

Beauty-wise, I’ve been loving the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist lately. I finally got it from Target after hearing so many people rave about it, and it lives up to the hype–it feels hydrating yet light and refreshing, and the spray is nice and even unlike others I’ve tried. I’ve been using it as skincare, before putting on my makeup, and sometimes to spray my beauty blender with when blending out  my foundation. It usually takes me forever to go through beauty products, but I’m already halfway through the bottle.

I’ve also been enjoying Evolv Shampoo and Conditioner (which my friend Andy recommended), so much so that I ordered the jumpo size bottles of it because Lucas likes it too. It’s our favorite vegan shampoo/conditioner that we’ve tried so far, and Lucas says “it makes your hair light and fluffy without stripping away oils.” Maybe he should start writing my beauty posts lol.

I only bought one clothing item during April, this love is love shirt from Kate Flowers, which I absolutely love. I sized up and got a large, and it’s just long enough for me to wear comfortably with leggings as pants.

I also found a new (to me) awesome Youtuber this month–witchy babe Anaïs Alexandre. I found her channel through a collab with one of my favorite Youtubers Harmony Nice, and like Harmony she shares videos about witchy things and has a gorgeous Instagram feed, and I love her style as well. One of my fave videos from her channel is this self love ritual/Magickal Bullet Journal one–check it out!

Keeping with the witchy theme, another one of my favorites this month is this lovely rose quartz crystal I found at Crystal Works Austin (and used during the self love ritual.) Isn’t it pretty?

I also have a couple of Buffy faves this month–these super cute pins by Kat Goodloe and this sweet Willow card from A Rose Cast that my best friend Ely sent me.

I won’t go into them since I don’t want to spoil anything (and you’ve probably already heard of all of these), but some of my favorite movies over the past couple of months were Black Panther, Shape of Water, Coco, and yes Infinity War, lol.

What were some of your favorite things from April? Let me know in the comments!
