Yesterday Lucas and I went to brunch at The Beer Plant (a vegan gastropub!) for the first time with our friends Carmen and Hassan and their toddler Marley, and I shot some photos of the deliciousness to share with y’all!
I got The Skillet, which comes with migas, house-made sausage, home fries, smoked tomato, sauteed portobellos, pinto beans, toast (I got gluten free which is from Misty Morning Bakery), and house made cultured butter. Everything was good but my fave parts of the plate were the chickpea based sausage, home fries, and toast with home made butter. Since I’m gluten free and haven’t dabbled much with making my own bread yet, good toast is a treat!
Lucas and Hassan both got the Chikn’ and Waffles, and the seitan chik’n was a big hit (even Marley liked it!) They made me wish I wasn’t gluten free because they looked so dang good!
Carmen got the Haystack–a veggie-full option with blackened broccoli, sweet potato hash, tofu migas and queso.
I want to keep making my way through the vegan brunch options in Austin–so far besides The Beer Plant I’ve tried Counter Culture, Bouldin Creek, and Kerbey Lane. Have you tried brunch at The Beer Plant? What are your fave Austin brunch spots? Let me know in the comments!
