Character Style: Cheryl Blossom

October 22, 2017 By Penny

Mini skirts, sweaters, boots, (faux) leather, chokers–I can’t get enough of Cheryl Blossom‘s killer style. Cheryl is always ready to investigate a murder, swing insults, burn a house down, or maybe even have a séance all while looking sexy as hell.

Here are some Cheryl inspired red and black looks I came up with. (I got the idea for a character inspired fashion post from Mia!) Cheryl has other looks as well–more innocent looks, cheer outfits, formal looks etc., but these are some of my faves (and are also somewhat easy to achieve), so that’s what I’m focusing on in this post.

While you can probably find the exact items Cheryl wears since Riverdale is a current show, they’re pricey and most likely sold out by now, so I’ve found similar items for inspiration. I’m actually planning on trying to thrift some of these items since that’s the cheapest and most eco friendly shopping option!

These looks would be perfect for a casual Cheryl cosplay or Halloween costume or just for looking fab this fall/winter!

All of the pieces I’ve found are faux leather of course. I also found out recently that Madelaine Petsch is vegan! I love finding out that my fave characters/celebrities are vegan.

Also, don’t forget to check out my Cheryl Blossom cosplay Part 1 & Part 2, Character Style Cheryl Blossom Part 2, or check out all of my Riverdale posts here.

Look 1: Sassy Murder Investigation (Season 1, Episode 3)

Red Mini Dress, Black Faux Leather Jacket, Black Over The Knee Boots, Black Choker Necklace

This is one of my favorites of Cheryl’s outfits–her over the knee boots are so hot paired with a red mini dress, black choker, and faux leather jacket. Where did you get those thigh high boots Cheryl?!

Look 2: Stealing Archie (Season 1, Episode 9)

Red Sweater, Black Mini Skirt, Black Choker Necklace, Spider Brooch

I would kill for Cheryl’s vintage spider brooches! This look is similar to the first, but with a red sweater instead of a red dress, and a black faux leather cutout/lace trim skirt and choker.

Look 3: Confronting Mommy Blossom (Season 1, Episode 12)

Black Turtleneck, Black Faux Leather Mini Skirt, Sheer Black Tights, Black Knee High Boots, Spider Brooch, Bow Earrings

I love this look so much and am tempted to buy all of these items, but I’m going to try thrifting first instead. It’s a pretty basic all black look with a turtleneck, faux leather skirt, and knee high boots, but it comes together perfectly with sheer tights, a spider brooch, and bow earrings.

Cheryl Details

Red/Auburn Hair, Red Lipstick & Nails

Cheryl’s most identifying factor is her firey red hair. If you’re not a natural redhead, you can still rock her look with an auburn/copper wig. If you’re interested in actually coloring your hair, check out my post about coloring my hair copper.

Madelaine Petsch said in the past that she wears Lime Crime’s lipstick in Red Velvet to get her signature Cheryl look, but you can wear any red lipstick you have.

Which are your favorite Cheryl outfits? Do you pull fashion inspiration from TV/characters? Let me know in the comments!
