FOOD (VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE RECIPES)
Two of my favorite recipes this month were from The Vegan 8–one was this Cheesy Tortilla Bake, which I made numerous times. It’s easy to make and super tasty–the cheese sauce is amazing! I also made these Apple Hand Pies can’t believe how good they were, especially since they’re gluten and oil free! I didn’t know an oil free pie crust was even possible.
Of course one of my other favorite recipes was my Butter(free)beer recipe. Vegan. Butter. Beer. Need I say more?
This month I also finally ordered a silicone baking sheet and love it/already ordered another. It seems to make things bake more evenly without flipping (and maybe even slightly quicker than with parchment paper). It’s also more eco friendly!
FOOD (RESTAURANTS)
I tried this Chinese Eggplant from Soursop with Julien earlier this month and have ordered it twice since–it’s that good!
I also went back to Citizen Eatery to try their brunch with Carmen–I got the vegan Citizen Scramble, and it was so yummy and cheesy! I also love that they have gluten free flapjacks (I had some of Carmen’s) and toast. We split some vegan chili cheese fries that were really good as well.
Beauty
I didn’t shoot any photos before using them–but this month I’ve been loving the Cover FX Illuminating Powder and Setting Spray. My face has been so dry and blah with the cold weather, and both of these help add some life back in to my face.
TV/MOVIES
This month Lucas and I got into/became consumed by Shameless–it’s one of those shows we had trouble turning off…like, ever.
I also saw The Last Jedi…three times! I liked it a lot, but I’m still not sure how I feel about certain parts of it…I need to see where they’re going with the story in Episode 9. I loved the vegan themes though–did anyone else notice them? Also, I found out recently that Daisy Ridley is vegan! (Everyone is going vegan!)
