I already wrote posts about what I ate at each Disney World park on my latest 2020 trip (Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, & Animal Kingdom), so check those out for details on all of the meals and snacks I tried at each of the parks, but I also wanted to share my top favorites from the trip in case you’re curious.
Favorite Restaurant Overall: Sci-Fi Dine-In
First off, my favorite restaurant at all of the Disney parks is easily the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios.
There are some other meals that were better food-wise this trip, but Sci-Fi will always be my number one top priority restaurant to go to at Disney World because I’m in love with the vintage drive-in movie theater theme.
They play old science fiction and horror movie clips up on a big screen, while you dine at a cute retro car table–need I say more? It’s nostalgic and kind of spooky, and you don’t have to talk at dinner (aka, my idea of perfection.) Oh, and they also have vegan milkshakes!
Favorite Table Service Meal
Liberty Tree Tavern (Magic Kingdom)
My favorite meal of this trip was the Revolutionary Meatloaf from Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. The Impossible-based meatloaf was a little crispy, flavorful, and paired with the mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans, it was a comforting, satisfying, and delicious meal. To top it all off, the Johnny’s Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake for dessert was incredible as well. I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish the meatloaf because it was a generous portion, but it was too tasty not to finish…and then somehow I finished the entire dessert as well–it was just that good.
Favorite Quick Service Meal
I only tried a few quick service meals during this trip, and honestly they were all good, but if I could only go back for one it would probably be the vegan Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios, which comes with tater tots, vegan chili, and cheese. I enjoyed both the plant based slaw dog from Casey’s Corner (Magic Kingdom) and veggie pizza with vegan cheese from PizzeRizzo (Hollywood Studios) as well though.
Favorite Dessert
Coral Reef Restaurant (Epcot)
I enjoyed my whole meal at Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot, but what really stood out was the dessert, which was a Baileys Almond and Jack Daniel’s Mousse with chocolate ganache and candied almonds–it was decadent and delicious! I’d really like to try finding a similar recipe to try at home–if you know of anything close, please let me know!
Favorite Snacks
My favorite snacks from Disney World are Dole Whips & popcorn! I also love pastries from Erin McKenna’s Bakery (an all vegan & gluten free bakery) in Disney Springs. I didn’t actually go to Disney Springs during this trip, but my sister did twice, and each time she brought me treats from Erin McKenna’s.
