January was a dreary month for me, and I was sick and not feeling very motivated for a lot of it, but I still have some great favorites to share with y’all! The topics for my favorites depend on the month (for example I didn’t try much new makeup this month so it’s not included)–this one includes some rad bloggers/Youtubers, food, underwear, and TV–just keep reading!
Blogs
Sometimes I go a while without finding any new blogs I love, but last month I discovered not one but two amazing blogs!
The first is Pink Chanel Suit, a gorgeous blog written by Maria Elena (a fellow INFP vegan Slytherin Aries–say what?!) This post about not doing things just because you feel like you should (when you don’t really want to) was one of the first that I read, and it really resonated with me. Lately I’m trying to be more honest about what I want and need, and I enjoyed reading about things Maria Elena has said no to lately and why. Maria Elena also shares poetry (I love and relate to this poem) and writes about fashion, vegan food, self care/mental health, Netlfix/TV–all things I love reading about, and she has a ridiculously beautiful Instagram feed as well.
Another vegan blogger babe I found is Witch Cake–Holly’s blog and Instagram feed are stunning, and she writes about cruelty free beauty, vegan food, witchcraft, fashion, and sexuality–all things I’m into. (If you didn’t already know, I also blog about sex in other corners of the Internet.) Some of my fave of her recent posts are Unblocking My Creativity, How I Celebrate Samhain, and Witchcraft for Self Care.
Youtube
This month I discovered YouTuber Harmony Nice and fell in love with her channel. She makes videos about wicca/witchcraft, unsolved mysteries, paranormal things, tattoos, and more–if you’re interested in any of those things check her out! Her Instagram feed is magical too.
I’ve also been feeling the need to re-tidy and declutter with spring approaching, and I’ve been loving decluttering and organization videos lately–I watched all of Vegan Malory’s (a rad vegan Youtuber/fellow Disney lover!) and some of Jessica Braun’s as well.
Vegan & Gluten Free Food
I had a cold during most of January, and Dr. McDougall soups helped get me through it. I like the Pad Thai and Spring Onion ones, and I always add Sriracha. They’re quick and easy to make, and they’re also vegan and oil free. They aren’t super hearty/filling, but they’re a light yet comforting snack. Not all flavors are gluten free so make sure to check if you need gf. I also made a few Daiya Pizzas, which are gluten free as well and an easy treat when I don’t want to cook.
Since I was sick during a lot of the month, I didn’t try any new recipes, but I still made my Magical Vegan and Gluten Free Cookies a few times! They’re so soft and delicious and are oil free too!
Another food favorite from January was the vegan flavors from Lick Honest Ice Creams–I went with my Dad when he was in town, and I was surprised by how delicious they were, especially the chocolate.
Clothing
I’ve actually been meaning to mention MeUndies for months now–they’re super comfortable, and I’ve had a subscription for about a year now (they send a pair of your choice every month.) I purchased a few initially too, so I have a solid collection now. I posted a photo of me in some pizza ones I got a while back on Instagram–I like the cheeky briefs (pictured) and thongs.
TV
I almost didn’t want to keep watching The End of the F***ing World after a dead animals scene in the first episode (I love horror and dark things but not when it includes animals, go figure), but I’m glad I kept watching because I ended up loving it. (It’s definitely dark, so don’t watch if you’re not into dark things and/or check trigger warnings if needed.) Last month Lucas and I also binge watched/enjoyed The Good Place (fantasy comedy) and Atypical (coming-of-age-dark comedy). All three series are on Netflix except the newest season of The Good Place, which you can get on Amazon (and some on Hulu).
That’s it for my fave things from January, what were some of yours? Did you try any good recipes or watch anything good on Netflix or find any blogs I should check out? Let me know in the comments!
