All of the above photos were shot on an old Minolta x700 on expired Kodak film (except the Polaroid, which is Impossible Project color film).
The smell of cigarettes, the flashing lights, the old slot machines that you can actually still pull–I just love the El Cortez. El Cortez is the oldest casino in Vegas that’s still open, and it’s known for having some of the best blackjack tables in Vegas.
My Retro Cactus Romper is from Unique Vintage, and the jellies are from BC Footwear–I bought them a couple of years ago for my costume when I dressed up as The Dude from The Big Lebowski and rediscovered them in my closet recently and was like jellies, hell yes I’m gonna rock these! I ordered pink retro sunglasses as well, but they were out of stock, and I didn’t get them before Vegas, but I found the white ones at a boutique in the Container Park on Fremont Street.
Hanging around the casino in our vintage outfits. My blue 1970’s disco dress is from Vintage Vixen on Etsy, and Lucas found his suit at Vintage Vegas Antiques and his shirt at Glam Factory Vintage.
This vintage 70’s dress is from New Bohemia Vintage in Austin, and my heels are from Target.
This dress is one of my favorite vintage finds to date, it’s a Tadaski sequin dress that I found at Goodwill on South Lamar for $9.99. My heels are from b.a.i.t. (seriously cute vegan vintage inspired shoes)! My gold sequin purse is from Main Street Peddlers Antique Mall in Vegas. I wore this outfit when we saw Britney!
There’s something about Vegas that just makes me want to wear fabulous vintage outfits–I love it! I wore a couple of other vintage outfits while we were there, so there may be a part 2 to this.
What are you favorite places to find and wear vintage clothes? Have you been to Vegas/El Cortez? Let me know in the comments!
