What I Ate at Disney World 2020: Animal Kingdom

May 15, 2020 By Penny

This is going to be my shortest what I ate at Disney World post because I only went to Animal Kingdom one day on this trip, and we only ate one meal there, at Tusker House Restaurant. Don’t forget to check out my other posts about what I ate at Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Caribbean Beach (I tried many more options at all of those places), or see all of my Disney posts here, and follow my Disney Instagram account here.

I love eating at Tusker House while at Animal Kingdom because their buffet has lots of vegan options, and you also get to meet characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daffy. This was my third time going as a vegan (I also went in 2018 & 2017), and I went before going vegan too because my family has always enjoyed the hearty buffet and meeting the characters.

I filled up my plate with samosas, vegetable tandoori, roasted potatoes and vegetables, plantains, kushari, collard greens, and more. Everything was so flavorful, and all of the whole foods were a nice change of pace after eating a lot of faux meat options during the trip.

I also had some of the vegan dessert option, which were little banana cakes. These weren’t as good as other dessert options I tried at Disney World, but I was still glad to see a vegan dessert option.

Here’s a photo of the vegan options–I forgot the take a photo of the desserts side, but the only option was the banana cakes.

While at Animal Kingdom, I also had a veganized caramel frappuccino (almond milk, no whip).

Have you been to Tusker House? Which are your favorite restaurants/plant based foods in Animal Kingdom? Let me know in the comments!
